HomeMy WebLinkAbout2017-05-16; City Council; Resolution 2017-084EXHIBIT 1 RESOLUTION NO. 2017-084 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, TO PURCHASE A PUBLIC SAFETY MOBILE COMMAND VEHICLE FROM LYNCH DISPLAY VEHICLES (LDVUSA) IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $708,839 PLUS APPLICABLE SALES TAX AND LICENSING FEES USING POLICE CONTINGENCY FUNDS WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California has determined that it is in the public interest in the pursuit of public safety to authorize the police department to purchase a Public Safety Mobile Command Vehicle from Lynch Display Vehicles (LDVUSA) in an amount not to exceed $708,839 plus applicable sales tax and licensing fees; and WHEREAS, the Public Safety Mobile Command Vehicle will be utilized by the police department and fire department for planned and unplanned events; and WHEREAS, the Public Safety Mobile Command Vehicle will be acquired using police contingency funds; and WHEREAS, the total amount includes a $52,418 discount for the trade-in of the department's current mobile command vehicle. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 2. The amount of the Public Safety Mobile Command Vehicle is not to exceed $708,839 plus applicable sales tax and licensing fees. The police department will use available funds from police contingency to purchase the vehicle. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Carlsbad on the 16th day of May, 2017, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: M. Hall, K. Blackburn, M. Schumacher, C. Schumacher, M. Packard. NOES: None. ABSENT: None.
