A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING A $17,000 DONATION
FROM THE FRIENDS OF CARRILLO RANCH, INC AND APPROPRIATING AN
ADDITIONAL $4,000 FROM THE CARRILLO RANCH TRUST FUND FOR THE
STONE PILLAR RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT
EXHIBIT 1
WHEREAS, The Friends of Carrillo Ranch Inc. has generously offered to donate $17,000 to the
Carrillo Ranch Trust Fund to reconstruct the historic stone entry pillars; and
WHEREAS, the city has agreed to contribute an additional $4,000 to offset total project costs of
$21,000; and
WHEREAS, the Friends' $17,000 donation and the city's $4,000 contribution will be
appropriated in the Carrillo Ranch Trust Fund and used for the reconstruction of the stone pillars inside
Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park; and
WHEREAS, the stone pillar reconstruction project is consistent with the Carrillo Ranch Park
Master Plan interpretive plan recommendations, and will enhance visitor understanding and
enjoyment of the park; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as
follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the $17,000 donation form the Friends of Carrillo, Ranch, Inc. is accepted with
gratitude.
3. That additional $4,000 in funding ($21,000 total) is approved and appropriated in the
Carrillo Ranch Trust Fund for the stone pillar reconstruction project.

Carlsbad on the 26th day of September, 2017, by the following vote, to wit:
