HomeMy WebLinkAbout2017-10-24; City Council; Resolution 2017-205RESOLUTION NO. 2017-205 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF TWO REPLACEMENT AMBULANCES FROM LIFELINE EMERGENCY VEHICLES FOR $471,271. Exhibit 1 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California has determined that funds in the amount of $566,600 were previously appropriated to the fiscal year 2017 and 2018 Fleet Vehicle Replacement Fund by the Carlsbad City Council for the purchase of two replacement ambulance chassis and cab remounts; and WHEREAS, Fleet staff within the General Services Division has reviewed the overall condition, maintenance history and future maintenance needs and determined it is in the best fiscal interest of the City of Carlsbad to replace the requested vehicles and remount as a single unit each; and WHEREAS, in accordance with Carlsbad Municipal Code section 3.28.100, the purchasing officer has determined that the use of competitive bid contract #AMl0-14 through HGACBuy is in the city's best interest; and WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad has procured a bid from Lifeline Emergency Vehicles through HGACBuy to provide two ambulances for a total cost, including tax, of $471,271. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 2. That the City of Carlsbad General Services Division is authorized to purchase two ambulances from Lifeline Emergency Vehicles for a total cost of $471,271. Exhibit 1 PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Carlsbad on the 24th day of October, 2017, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: K. Blackburn, M.
