A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE CLEANING AND
INSPECTION OF UPPER VISTA/CARLSBAD AND NORTH BATIQUITOS
INTERCEPTOR SEWERS, PROJECT NO. 5513-B.
Exhibit 1
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has determined it necessary,
desirable, and in the public interest to provide cleaning and inspection of the North Batiquitos and upper
Vista/Carlsbad interceptor sewer lines and manholes as a part of the city's ongoing Sewer System
Management Plan; and
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment,
transportation, and other expenses necessary or incidental for the Cleaning and Inspection of Upper
Vista/Carlsbad and North Batiquitos Interceptor Sewers, Project No. 5513-B (Project) have been prepared
and are on file at Carlsbad Municipal Water District and are incorporated by reference herein; and
WHEREAS, the Project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) per State
CEQA Guidelines Section 15301(b).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as
follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the plans, specifications and bid documents for the Project on file at the Carlsbad
Municipal Water District are hereby approved.
3. That the city clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to publish,
in accordance with State law, a Notice to Contractors Inviting Bids for the construction
of the Project, in accordance with the plans, specifications and contract documents
referred to herein.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad on the 28th day of August, 2018, by the following vote, to wit:
