HomeMy WebLinkAbout2018-11-27; City Council; Resolution 2018-195RESOLUTION NO. 2018-195 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF A REPLACEMENT SEAGRAVE PUMPER FROM HGACBUY IN THE AMOUNT OF $783,079. Exhibit 1 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California has determined that funds in the amount of $798,300 were previously appropriated to the Fiscal Year 2017-18 Fleet Vehicle Replacement Fund by the City Council for purchase of a Seagrave pumper; and WHEREAS, the Fleet Committee has reviewed the overall condition, maintenance history and future maintenance needs of the existing Seagrave pumper and has determined that it is in the best fiscal interest of the City of Carlsbad to replace this vehicle; and WHEREAS, in accordance with Carlsbad Municipal Code section 3.28.100, the City of Carlsbad may utilize a cooperative bid agreement when the Purchasing Officer has determined it is in the best interests of the city; and WHEREAS, the Purchasing Officer has determined it is the best interests of the city to utilize a Cooperative Bid Agreement through HGACBuy, contract no. FS12-17; and WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad has procured a bid from HGACBuy to provide a Seagrave pumper in the amount of $783,079 and the purchasing officer has determined it is in the city's best interest to enter into a contract with HGACBuy to purchase this vehicle. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 2. That the City of Carlsbad Public Works Department General Services Division is authorized to purchase a Seagrave pumper through HGACBuy in the amount of $783,079.
