A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A FISCAL YEAR 2019-20 DONATION OF $99,040
AND A PLEDGE OF $38,185 IN ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FROM THE FRIENDS
OF THE CARLSBAD LIBRARY TO THE CITY OF CARLSBAD LIBRARY & CULTURAL
ARTS DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California has determined that the Friends
of the Carlsbad Library have generously offered to donate $99,040 to the City of Carlsbad's Library &
Cultural Arts department; and
WHEREAS, the Friends .of the Carlsbad Library have pledged an additional $38,185 in direct
support for library programs during the fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, the donation from the Friends of the Carlsbad Library augments the operating
budget for the Library allowing the purchase of materials and the continuation of programs for the
community that otherwise might not have been possible.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council accepts with thanks the donation of $99,040 and an additional
pledge of $38,185 from the Friends of the Carlsbad Library.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad on the 9th day of July, 2019, by the following vote, to wit:
