RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL
WATER DISTRICT DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE CANVASS OF ELECTION
RETURNS OF ELECTION HELD IN SAID DISTRICT ON TUESDAY, JULY 24, 1956.
The Board of Directors of CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER as follows:
Section 1, That a special bond election was duly called and regularly held in said district on the 24th day of July, 1956, at which election there was
submitted to the qualified voters of said district the following proposition, to
wit :

PROPOSITION: Shall Carlsbad Municipal Water District incur a bonded indebt
edness for Improvement District No. 1 thereof in the principal sum of $1,350,000 for the purpose of the acquisition and construction of a water transmission pipeline with
appurtenances and appurtenant works from the facilities of the Sin Diego County Water
Authority located in the San Marcos, Escondido Area (at a point to be approved by
the San Diego County Water Authority) to a point within the Carlsbad Municipal Water District east of Highland Avenue, including works, machinery and other property (in- cluding lands and easements) useful and necessary to store, convey, supply and othe- wise make use of water for the lands axxi inhabitants within the exterior bauzriaries
of said Improvement District No. 1, and including expenses of all proceedings for the authorhatiom, issuance and sale of the bonds2
Section 2. That the returns of said election have been duly and regularly
canvassed by this Board as provided by law, and all absentee ballots have been re- turned and canvassed,
Section 3. That the votes cast in the precincts established for said elec-
tion for and against said proposition and the total votes cast in said precincts, and
the absentee votes cast for and against said proposition and the total absentee votes, and the total votes cast at said election for and minst said proposition and upon
said proposition are as follows: c

Section 4. That the votes of less than tw-thillds of all of the voters
voting upon said proposition were cast in favor of the adoption of said proposition
and said bond proposition is hereby declared to have failed to carry at said election.
Section 5. That the Secretary of this Board is hereby directed to enter this
resolution in full in the minutes of this Board.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 31st day of July, 1956.
