THE ESTABLTSHMEmT OF A SEX WATER COMJERsIOIiT PLANT IN THE SAN DIEGO AREB.
WREKEAS, the City of Sm Diego has appointed an Advisory Committee horn as the Mayor's Scientific Advisory Comdttee which has diligently pursued every
avenue of research into the feasibility of sea water conversion in the San Diego
area and has amassed much valuable sciehtif'ic information and data; aad

WHEREBS, the City of San Diego has entered into an agreement with the
Department of Interior offering to provide public-owned land, free of cost, as a
suitable site for a demonstration sea water conversion plant to be erected by that
Department; and
WI-IEREBS, there is an urgent and critiual necessity for developing new
WAEHEBS, the San Diego area is ideally situated geographically and cli-
sources of fresh water to meet immediate and fibre needs of Sm Mego County; and
matically as a site for a sea water conversion plant;
NcxJ THEREFORE RE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of Carlsbad &ni-
cipal. Water District that it go on record as favoring the establishment of a sea
water conversion plant in the San Diego area under SJJ Res 135.
