HomeMy WebLinkAbout1969-01-15; Municipal Water District; Resolution 234RESOLUTION NO. 234 ...- A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR CON- STRUCTION OF LA COSTA RESERVOIR AND D-2 RESERVOIR, IMPROVE- MENT DISTRICT NO. 2, CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT. WHEREAS, pursuant to due publication of advertisement for bids for the construction of La Costa Reservoir and D-2 Reservoir, Improvement District No. 2, Carlsbad Municipal Water District four (4) sealed bids were filed with the Board of Directors of Carlsbad Municipal Water District prior to 2:OO o'clock P.M., on January 15, 1969, as required by said advertisement: and WHEREAS, said bids were opened and publicly read aloud at the time and place specified in said advertisement, and it was determined that bids had been submitted by the following: Taylor and Hoover, Inc., for a total bid of $221,232.00, consisting of the following schedule bids : Schedule 1: $ 112,735.00 Schedule 2: $ 91,297.00 Schedule 3: $ 13,100.00 Schedule 4: $ 4,100,OO General American Transportation Corporation, for a total bid of $236,488.00, consisting of the following schedule bids: Schedule 1: $ 120,952.00 Schedule 2: $ 98,316.00 Schedule 3: $ 13,105,OO Schedule 4: $ 4,115.00 Southwest Welding & Manufacturing Coo, for a total bid of $227,936.00, consisting of the following schedule bids : Schedule 1: $ 116,630.00 Schedule 2: $ 94,554.00 Schedule 3: $ 12,710.00 Schedule 4: $ 4,042.00 Rheem Superior, Division of Rheem Manufacturing Company, for a total bid of $228,740.00, consisting of the following schedule bids: Schedule 1: $ 117,800.00 Schedule 2: $ 94,900.00 Schedule 4: $ 3,820.00 Schedule 3: .$ 12,220,oo WHEREAS, it has been determined that the bid of Taylor and Hoover, Inc, in the total amount of Two Hundred Twenty-one Thousand Two Hundred Thirty-Two Dollars ($221,232.00) is the lowest responsible bid; and said bid complies with said advertise- ment for bids and the contract documents. NOW, THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: 1. That the bid submitted by Taylor and Hoover, Inc, for the furnishing of all materials and the performance of all work for said project, said bid being filed with the Board of Directors of Carlsbad Municipal Water District, is the lowest responsible bid received for said work, that said bidder is the lowest responsible bidder, and that the contract for the performance of said work is hereby awarded to said bidder for the sum of Two Hundred Twenty-one Thousand Two Hundred Thirty-Two Dollars ($221,232.00), the price named in said bid for doing said work, 2, That the President and Secretary of the Board of Directors of Carlsbad Municipal Water District, for and on behalf of said District, are hereby authorized and directed to execute the contract with said bidder for doing said work upon the execution, delivery and filing of the required bonds and of the contract by said bidder in the form and manner required by said advertisement for bids and other contract documents, incorporated herein by reference. ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 15th day of January, 1969.
