RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT SUPPORTING THE PERIPHERAL CANAL PROGRAM OF THE CALIFORNIA STATE WATER PROJECT
BEING SUPPORTED BY THE METROPOLITAN WATER DISTRICT OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
WHEREAS, the water needs of the CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER
DISTRICT and the inhabitants thereof require importation of
water through the State Water Project in accordance with existing
State contractual commitments with The Metropolitan Water District
of Southern California as well as others; and
WHEREAS, the Peripheral Canal is urgently needed to pro-
vide efficient transfer of State Project water across the Sacra-
mento-San Joaquin Delta, to help relieve the State Project Water
deficiencies, to help provide an adequate water supply for users c
in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, and to protect the Delta en-
vironment: and
WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Water District of Southern
California has adopted a program for enacting legislation to ex-
pedite State construction of the Peripheral Canal.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF CARLSBAD MUNI-
CIPAL WATER DISTRICT DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
1. The CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT reaffirm its
support of the Peripheral Canal as the best means for protecting
both the Delta's water resource environment and State Project *
I export water supplies.
i 2. The CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT supports the
Peripheral Canal program of the California State Water Project

being supported by The Metropolitan Water District of Southern
California and urges passage of legislation which will assure
6 prompt State construction of the Peripheral Canal.
3. The Board of Directors of CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER
DISTRICT respectfully requests that members of the Legislature
of the State of California and all State Government officials
connected with the project support the Peripheral Canal program
of the California State Water Project being supported by The
Metropolitan Water District of Southern California
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 18th day of April,
1979.

tors of CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT, DO HEREBY CERTIFY
that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the Board of
Directors of CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT at a regular
meeting of said Board held on the 18th day of April, 1979, and
that it was so adopted by the following vote:
