A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
COSTA REAL MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT
CALLING AN ADVISORY ELECTION
ON NOVEMBER 3, 1981
WHEREAS, Section 5353, Elections Code, State of Califor-
nia, provides that a special district may hold, at its discretion,
an advisory election in consolidation with any regular or special
election for the purpose of allowing the voters within its jurisdic-
tion to voice their opinion on substantive issues; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of COSTA REAL MUNICIPAL
WATER DISTRICT deems it to the benefit of all of the inhabitants of
COSTA REAL MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT to voice their opinion on the
issue of consolidation of water services of the City of Carlsbad
and the COSTA REAL MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT under the direction of
the elected COSTA REAL MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT Board of Directors;
and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of COSTA REAL MUNICIPAL
WATER DISTRICT has determined that this is a substantive issue; and
WHEREAS, there are General Districts, School Districts
and Consolidated Elections to be held on November 3, 1981, within the
boundaries of COSTA REAL MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT: and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of COSTA REAL MUNICIPAL
WATER DISTRICT would like to consolidate an advisory election with
the said elections to be held on November 3, 1981.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF COSTA REAL MU-
NICIPAL WATER DISTRICT DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:

1. That an advisory election, in consolidation with the
General Districts, School Districts and Consolidated Elections to
be held on November 3, 1981, be held on November 3, 1981 within the
boundaries of COSTA REAL MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT to allow the
voters within the COSTA REAL MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT to voice their
opinion on the question of the consolidation of water services of
the City of Carlsbad and the COSTA REAL MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT
under the direction of the elected COSTA REAL MUNICIPAL WATER DIS-
TRICT Board of Directors.
2. That the exact form of the question to be voted upon
and to appear on the ballot and to be submitted to the voters is as
follows: rc

3. That the Secretary of COSTA REAL MUNICIPAL WATER DIS-
TRICT shall cause certified copies of this resolution to be deliv-
ered forthwith to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors of the
County of San Diego and to the Registrar of Voters of the County of
San Diego, and to take any other necessary action in connection

with said election.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 29th day of July, 1981.

I, FRED W. MAERKLE, Secretary of the COSTA REAL MUNICIPAL
WATER DISTRICT and of the Board of Directors thereof, do hereby certi-
fy that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the Board of
Directors of said District at an adjourned regular meeting of the
Board held on the 29th day of July, 1981, and that it was adopted'by
the following vote:
