A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
COSTA REAL MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT CONSENTING TO ENTER THE JOINT PROTECTION
' PROGrWEl OF THE ASSOCIATIOM OF CALIFORNIA WATER AGENCIES JOINT POWERS INSURANCE
AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 990,
990.4, 990.8, and 6500 of the Government Code, this
district wishes to enter into an agreement
with various other districts entitled 'Joint Powers Agreement:
Creating the Association of California Water Agencies Joint
Powers Insurance Authority' (the 'Authority'), for the purpose
of participating in the Joint Powers Insurance Authority created
thereby, which since its formation has provided for and
administered a joint protection program as more fully set forth
in said agreement; and
WHEREAS, the deposit premium to be paid by this
district for liability insurance coverage, exclusive of separate
Dam Failure Liability, is the sum of $ 6,226.00 (pro-rated) ; and
WHEREAS, said joint protection program offers
significant advantages to this district in terms of cost,
liability protection, and services, and entering such program,
on the conditions hereinafter set forth, appears to be in the
best interest of this district.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of
Directors of COSTA REAL MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT
Section 1. That COSTA REAL MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT
hereby consents pursuant to the above-mentioned Joint Powers
Agreement, and theresolutions and policies enacted in implementa-

tion of such Agreement, to enter said joint protection program
on the following conditions:
(a) That the liability insurance coverage deposit
premium for this district for the first year of participation
in such joint protection program, as determined by the
Authority, shall be paid in ‘the amount of $ 6,226.00
to obtain coverage.
Section 2. That the district hereby selects
$ 2,500.00 as its Self Insured Retention (SIR) for the
first year of participation under the Authority’s cost allocation
formula for liability exclusive of Dam Failure Liability.
Section 3. That the Treasurer of this district is
hereby authorized to pay to ACWA/Joint Powers Insurance Authority
the amount of $ 6,226-00 for its first deposit
premium.
Section 4. That the Secretary of the Board of
Directors of this district is directed to certify a copy of
this resolution and to forwardthe same resulution, the signed
JPIA Agreement, and the JPIA deposit premium payment promptly
by mail to the Association of California Water Agencies/Joint
Powers Insurance Authority, 7844 Madison Avenue, Suite 167
Fair Oaks, California, 95628, at which ,ime insurance coveraqe
will commence the first of the following month, or

I, FRED W. MAERKLE, Secretary of the COSTA REAL MUNICIPAL
WATER DISTRICT and of the Board of Directors thereof, do hereby
certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the
Board of Directors of said District at a regular meeting of the
Board held on the 3rd day of July, 1985, and that it was adopted
by the following vote:
