OF CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT OPPOSING THE PASSAGE OF ASSEMBLY BILL NO. 1767 (ROOS)
WHEREAS, after study and examination of Assembly No. 1767 as introduced by Assembly Member Roos on March 9, and analysis of the meaning and effect that it could have o lining and covering of our Squires Dam facility, a large storage facility for potable water, and
WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Municipal Water Districl already been advised by the State Health Department of the for that facility to be lined and covered, and
WHEREAS, the enactment of this bill could impai ability of the Carlsbad Municipal Water District to safeguar high water quality standards for our customers, and
WHEREAS, a number of homes have already been buil occupied, more are planned for the area and might fall withi distance and time parameters of the bill as amended by the 5 on July 17, 1989, by the time Carlsbad Municipal Water Dis proposes the lining and covering of the Squires Dam facility
NOW, THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF CAI; MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AND ORDI FOLLOWS :

That it opposes Assembly Bill No. 1767 as origi introduced on March 9, 1989, and as amended in the Senate on
17, 1989, because of the possible impact it could have on
District.
