HomeMy WebLinkAbout1993-07-27; Municipal Water District; Resolution 8440 e 1 2 3 4 5 RESOLUTION NO. 844 RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT SETTING RATES FOR WATER SUPPLIED BY THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Water District and the San Diego COI 6 94 fiscal year to cover their expenses; and 7 Authority have increased the wholesale cost of water by an overall 20% fol in its component of the retail water rate to cover the cost of the increas 9 WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Municipal Water District will also require a 8 1o Metropolitan Water District and the San Diego County Water Authority for tl 11 fiscal year; and 12 WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Municipal Water District has experiencc 13 14 losses due to reduced water sales; and WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Municipal Water District will require an inc 15 operations and depreciation costs in order to cover the loss in revenue; anc 16 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Carlsbad Municipal Water 17 maintenance; and 20 costs from a constant source of monthly revenue to fund District oper 19 WHEREAS, the Board recognizes the need to generate a larger pori 18 determined that a revision of the charges for water delivery is necessary; ar 21 WHEREAS, the customers of the District benefit by the stabilizatio 22 25 water; and 24 variations in water sales and more accurately represents the actual purch; 23 revenue that, in turn, decreases the volatility of the District financial situ: continually observe wise water use; and 28 WHEREAS, Southern California is an arid region whose residc 27 incurred by the District than the term "Meter Stand-by Charge"; and 26 WHEREAS, the term "Delivery Charge" more accurately reflect: 0 0 1 WHEREAS, an inclining block rate is included as one of the Best M 2 // Practices developed by the State Water Conservation Coalition. 3 11 NOW, THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE ( 4 5 MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT HEREBY RESOLVES THAT: amended to read as follows. ' 1. The existing rate structure as described in Resolution r 7 /I 2. Effective August 15, 1993, the base rate charged for all wat 8 9 by the District shall be set at $1.67 per unit. 3. A conservation rate of $1.48 per unit will be charged to all s lo 11 residential customers whose monthly consumption is seven units or less. l1 It 4. The monthly delivery charges as stated in number 4 above 1 effective August 15, 1993. 7.
