A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND
AUTHORIZING THE SECRETARY OF THE WATER BOARD TO
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF AN 8” WATER
AND APPROPRIATING WATER REPLACEMENT FUNDS.
MAIN AND A 12” RECYCLED WATER MAIN, PROJECT NO. 98-107
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Carlsbad Municipal Water District, Carlsbad,
California, has determined it necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to combine an 8-inch
water and 12-inch recycled water transmission main with Faraday Avenue plans and
specifications, CMWD Project No. 98-107, Contract No. 3593; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Carlsbad Municipal Water District, Carlsbad,
California has determined it necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to construct the
8-inch water and 12-inch recycled water transmission mains from the existing westerly terminus
to Cannon Road; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Director has determined that this project described in the
Mitigated Negative Declaration Case No. CDP 98-39 is within its scope; and
WHEREAS, there will be no significant unmitigable effect, not analyzed therein; and
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for furnishing of all labor, material, tools,
equipment, transportation and other expenses necessary or incidental for said project have been
prepared and are on file in the Engineering Department of the Carlsbad Municipal Water District
and are incorporated by reference herein; and
WHEREAS, sufficient funds are available and appropriated for the potable water
main; and
WHEREAS, an additional $325,000 is required to install the recycled water main; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the Carlsbad
Municipal Water District of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 27

2. That the Finance Director is authorized to appropriate $325,000 from the Water
Replacement Fund to said project.
3. That the plans, specifications, and contract documents as presented are hereby
approved and combined with Faraday Avenue Improvements, Project No. 3593.
4. The Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Carlsbad Municipal Water District is
hereby authorized and directed to publish, in accordance with State law, Notice to Contractors
Inviting Bids for the construction of Faraday Avenue Improvements, Project No. 3593.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a special meeting of the Carlsbad Municipal
Water District held on the 6 th day of July , 1999 by the following vote, to wit:
