HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-06-08; Municipal Water District; Resolution 12101 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 1210 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT (CMWD) APPROVING PLANS AND SPEC1 FI CATIONS AND AUTHORlZl NG THE Dl STRl CT'S SECRETARY TO THE BOARD TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE INDUSTRIAL PARK PIPELINES, FOR THE ENCINA BASIN WATER RECLAMATION PROGRAM, PHASE II APPROPRIATE AND TRANSFER FUNDS. PROJECT, PROJECT NOS. 3887-C, 3667, AND 3930 AND TO WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Carlsbad Municipal Water District has jetermined it necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to construct the Industrial Park ipelines for the Encina Basin Water Reclamation Program, Phase II Project, Project Nos. 3887-C, 3667, and 3930; and WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for furnishing of all labor, materials, tools, squipment, transportation, and other expenses necessary or incidental to said project have been Irepared and are on file in the Engineering Department of the City of Carlsbad and are ncorporated by reference herein; and WHEREAS, the estimated project cost for the Industrial Park recycled water pipelines is 66,959,700 and the Industrial Park recycled water pipelines are part of a larger pipeline project Nith a total cost of $20,650,200; and WHEREAS, to date, there are appropriations totaling $1 9,810,500 for the overall pipeline iroject which are insufficient to complete the entire pipeline project; and WHEREAS, the pipeline project requires an additional appropriation of $839,700; and WHEREAS, there is $375,000 of excess funds in the Carlsbad Water Recycling Facility iroject (36753) and $150,000 of excess funds in the Mahr Reservoir Improvements project for a otal of $525,000 available to transfer to the pipeline project (38871); and WHEREAS, an additional appropriation of $314,700 from the Recycled Water Fund is 'equired for the pipeline project; and I! That the above recitations are true and correct. 2. That the plans, specifications, and contract documents on file in the City Engineer's office, as described above for the Industrial Park Pipeline, for the Encina Basin Water Reclamation Program, Phase II Project Nos. 3887-C, 3667, and 3930 are hereby approved. 3. The District Secretary of the Carlsbad Municipal Water District is hereby authorized and directed to publish, in accordance with State law, a Notice to Contractors Inviting Bids for the construction of the Industrial Park Pipelines, for the Encina Basin Water Reclamation Program, Phase II Project, Project Nos. 3887-C, 3667, and 3930 in accordance with the plans, specifications, and contract documents referred to herein. 4. That the Finance Director is authorized to transfer $375,000 from the Carlsbad Water Recycling Facility project (36753) to the pipelines project (38871 ). 5. That the Finance Director is authorized to transfer $150,000 from the Mahr Reservoir Improvements project (38901 ) to the pipelines project (38871 ). 6. That the Finance Director is authorized to appropriate an additional $314,700 to the pipelines project (38871) from the Recycled Fund.
