RESOLUTION NO. 1262
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT (CMWD),
APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR TEMPORARY PUMP RENTAL
EXPENSES FOR THE CALAVERA DAM.
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of Carlsbad Municipal Water District has determined
it necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to rent a temporary pump to control the water
surface level of the Calavera Dam; and
WHEREAS, proposals for short-term pump rentals have been solicited; and
WHEREAS, one (1) proposal has been received for the temporary pump rental from
Rain for Rent; and
WHEREAS, this short-term project is categorically exempt from the environmental
review process under the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA),
Section 15269 (c); and
WHEREAS, the estimated pump rental and operations costs for the temporary pump
system is $50,000; and
WHEREAS, funding from the City Council Contingency Fund in the amount of $50,000 is
iecessary; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of Carlsbad Municipal
JVater District as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

2. That the Finance Director is hereby authorized to fund $50,000 from the
City Council Contingency Fund.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a special meeting of the Carlsbad Municipal
Water District held on the 6th day of December , 2005 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Board Members Lewis, Hall, Kulchin, Packard, Sigafoose
