2 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF CARLSBAD
MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT (CMWD), AUTHORIZING THE CITY
3 CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE MAERKLE
RESERVOIR FLOATING COVER INSPECTION, CLEANING, REPAIR,
4 AND RAINWATER SYSTEM UPGRADE. PROJECT NO. 5005.
5 WHEREAS, the Board has determined it necessary and in the public interest to implement
6 the Maerkle Reservoir Floating Cover Inspection, Cleaning, Repair, and Rainwater System
7 Upgrade, Project No. 5005; and
8 WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for furnishing of all labor, materials, tools,
9 equipment, transportation, and other expenses necessary or incidental to the Maerkle Reservoir
10 Floating Cover Inspection, Cleaning, Repair, and Rainwater System Upgrade, Project No. 5005,
11 have been prepared and are on file in the Public Works-Engineering Department of the City of
12 Carlsbad and are incorporated herein by reference; and
13 WHEREAS, funds in the Water Replacement Fund have been appropriated and are
14 sufficient for the project.
15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Carlsbad Municipal Water District Board
16 of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
17 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
18 2. That the plans, specifications, and contract documents for the Maerkle Reservoir
19 Floating Cover Inspection, Cleaning, Repair, and Rainwater System Upgrade, Project No. 5005,
20 are on file in the Public Works-Engineering Department of the City of Carlsbad and are hereby
21 approved.
22 3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to publish,
23 in accordance with State law, a Notice to Contractors Inviting Bids for the construction of
24 Maerkle Reservoir Floating Cover Inspection, Cleaning, Repair, and Rainwater System Upgrade,
25 Project No. 5005, in accordance with the plans, specifications, and contract documents referred to
26 herein.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Special Meeting of the Carlsbad
Municipal Water District of the City of Carlsbad on the 19th day of June, 2007, by the
following vote, to wit:
AYES: Board Members Lewis, Hall and Packard
NOES: None
ABSENT: Board Members Kulchin and Nygaard
