A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
3 CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT (DISTRICT)
AWARDING THE CONTRACT TO MUELLER SERVICE CO. FOR
4 PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF 998 NEW WATER
METERS OF SIZE 1 1/2 INCH UP TO 8 INCHES AND THE
5 PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF 1,217 ITRON ENDPOINT
UNITS. CONTRACT NO. MS0901.6
7 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Carlsbad Municipal Water District (District)

adopted Resolution No. 1353 authorizing the City Clerk to advertise for bids for water meter
Q
purchases and replacements, and Itron Endpoint units purchase and installation; and
WHEREAS, the bids were opened, witnessed and recorded on June 24, 2009; and
11 WHEREAS, the lowest responsive bid received was submitted by Mueller Service Co. in
12 the amount of $429,129; and
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Carlsbad Municipal Water District Board
14 of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:

1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

2. That the low bid of $429,129 submitted by Mueller Service Co. for the purchase
17
and installation of 998 new water meters of size 11/2 inch up to 8 inches and the
18
purchase and installation of 1,217 Itron Endpoint units, Contract No. MS0901, is
19
hereby accepted.

21 3. The President of the Board of Directors of the Carlsbad Municipal Water District
22 (District) is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract for the purchase
23 and installation of 998 new water meters of size 1 1/2 inch up to 8 inches and the
24 purchase and installation of 1,217 Itron Endpoint units, Contract No. MS0901,
25 with Mueller Service Co.
