1 RESOLUTION NO. 1394
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT (CMWD),
3 AUTHORIZING THE APPLICATION FOR A GRANT FROM
4 THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF INTERIOR, BUREAU OF
RECLAMATION AUTOMATED METER READING WATER
5 METERS AND EQUIPMENT PROGRAMMED WITH LEAK
DETECTION TECHNOLOGY.

7 WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Interior, Bureau of Reclamation is offering
8 WaterSmart: Water and Energy Efficiency Grants, for projects that result in quantifiable
9 and sustained water savings or improve water management; and
10
WHEREAS, the District wishes to submit an application requesting grant funds

from the U.S. Department of Interior, Bureau of Reclamation for Phase 2 of the
12
Automated Meter Replacement Program; and
WHEREAS, the Automated Meter Replacement Program meets the grant criteria14
15 for eligibility and can be completed within the prescribed grant timelines.
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the
17 Carlsbad Municipal Water District, California, as follows:
18 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
19 2. That the District Assistant General Manager is authorized to apply to the U.S.
20
Department of Interior, Bureau of Reclamation requesting grant funding for
21
Phase 2 of the Automated Meter Replacement Program.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Special Meeting of the Board of
Directors of the Carlsbad Municipal Water District of the City of Carlsbad on the 13th
day of April, 2010, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Board Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Blackburn.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
