2 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT, CALIFORNIA, TO
3 APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE SUBMITTAL OF APPLICATION
TO THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR, BUREAU OF
4 RECLAMATION FOR FY 2011 TITLE XVI GRANT FOR THE
RECYCLED WATER MASTER PLAN AND FEASIBILITY STUDY
5 REPORTS, PROJECT NO. 5022

WHEREAS, On July 7, 2009, through adoption of Resolution No. 1363, the Board
7
approved a professional engineering services agreement with Carollo Engineers for preparation of
8
a recycled water master plan update, and Phase III Feasibility Study reports, Project No. 5022;
and
^ WHEREAS, up to a 50 percent total project cost grant is available from the U.S.
11 Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation (BUREC) for allocation to local agencies in
12 Fiscal Year 2011 to prepare "Title XVI Feasibility Study" reports to seek Congressional
13 authorization for construction of a new Title XVI project for Water Recycling and Reuse; and
14 WHEREAS, pursuant to the above described program, an application may be submitted
1(- to obtain a "Title XVI Feasibility Study" report grant for recycled water system development,
Project No. 5022; and16
WHEREAS, the Board has approved funding in the amount of $672,468 for the recycled
17
water master plan and Phase III Feasibility Study report, Project No. 5022, which is available to
18
provide for a matching total project cost share for the reports; and
19 WHEREAS, the BUREC requires agencies to submit a Board Resolution authorizing
20 submittal of a project application, and the Carlsbad Municipal Water District will work with the
21 (BUREC) to meet established deadlines for entering into a cooperative agreement, and supports
22 the application.
23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of the Carlsbad Municipal Water
24 District, California, as follows:
25 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
25 2. That the Director of Utilities is hereby authorized to apply for U.S. Department of
27 the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation (BUREC) funding from the Department's Title

1 PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Special Meeting of the Board of
2 Directors of the Carlsbad Municipal Water District of the City of Carlsbad on the 14th day
3 of December, 2010, by the following vote to wit:
