A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
3 CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT (CMWD),
APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND
4 AUTHORIZING THE SECRETARY OF THE BOARD TO
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PARK DRIVE WATER
5 PIPELINE REPLACEMENT, SURFACE IMPROVEMENTS,
NORTHWEST QUADRANT STORM DRAIN PROGRAM AND
6 CONCRETE REPAIR PROGRAM, PROJECT NO'S. 5030, 6608
AND 6013.
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Carisbad Municipal Water District,
California has determined it necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to construct sidewalk,
curb, gutter, storm drain facilities, remove and replace potable water pipeline, and remove and
replace damaged pavement in Park Drive from Adams Avenue to 200-feet southeriy of Cove Drive;
and
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for furnishing of all labor, materials, tools,
equipment, transportation, and other expenses necessary or incidental of said project have been
prepared and are on file in the Utilities Department of the City of Carisbad and are incorporated by
reference herein; and
WHEREAS, this project is exempt from environmental review per CEQA Section 15301(b)
- minor alteration of existing facilities of public utility services involving negligible or no expansion
and Section 15302(c) - replacement or reconstruction of existing utility systems and/or facilities
involving negligible or no expansion of capacity; and
20 WHEREAS, the Engineer's estimate for the project cost is $756,120; and
21 WHEREAS, sufficient funds exist in the Water-Capital Replacement and Gas Tax funds.
22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Carisbad Municipal Water District Board
23 of the City of Carisbad, California, as follows:
24 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
25 2. That the plans, specifications and contract documents for the Park Drive Water
Pipeline Replacement, Surface Improvements, Northwest Quadrant Storm Drain Program and
Concrete Repair Program, Project No's. 5030, 6608 and 6013 are on file in the Utilities
Department ofthe City of Carisbad and are hereby approved.

1 3. The Secretary of the Board is hereby authorized and directed to publish, in
2 accordance with State law, a Notice to Contractors Inviting Bids for the construction of the Park
2 Drive Water Pipeline Replacement, Surface Improvements, Northwest Quadrant Storm Drain
Program and Concrete Repair Program, Project No's. 5030, 6608 and 6013, in accordance with
the plans, specifications, and contract documents referred to herein.

Carlsbad Municipal Water District Board of Directors and the City Council ofthe City of
Carlsbad on the 8*^ day of January, 2013, by the following vote to wit:
