RESOLUTION NO. 1489
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT (CMWD)
DESIGNATING A CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER BOARD
PROXY FOR THE SAN DIEGO COUNTY WATER
AUTHORITY MEETINGS
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 1005 was adopted on December 16, 1997 providing
the voting proxy for Carlsbad Municipal Water District (CMWD) to a City of Oceanside
representative should the CMWD member be absent at a San Diego County Water
Authority meeting; and
WHEREAS, On December 22, 2009, a second representative from CMWD was
appointed to the San Diego County Water Authority giving CMWD two votes.
WHEREAS, On December 6, 2011, it was no longer necessary to provide
CMWD's voting proxy to the City of Oceanside, and the Board adopted Resolution No.
1431 designating two CMWD Board Members as the proxy should one member be
absent while representing CMWD at the San Diego County Water Authority.
WHEREAS, with the resignation of Board Member Farrah Douglas effective
February 7, 2014, the Carlsbad representation is back to one. The replacement for
Council Member Douglas' seat will be temporary until the November election. Choosing
a replacement member is not advised at this time.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors ofthe Carlsbad
Water District, as follow:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That this Resolution No. 1489 supersedes Resolution No. 1431
adopted December 6, 2011 and provides that the City of Oceanside
member shall be the proxy for the absent CMWD member.
3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to provide the City of Oceanside a copy.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Special Meeting of the Board of Directors of the
Carlsbad Municipal Water District ofthe City of Carlsbad on the if ^ day of March, 2014, by the
following vote to wit:
