HomeMy WebLinkAbout2014-08-19; Municipal Water District; Resolution 14954 5 6 7 8 9 10 13 14 15 16 28 1 RESOLUTION NO. 1495 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT 2 BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA TO DECLARE A DROUGHT REPONSE LEVEL 2 - DROUGHT ALERT CONDITION. WHEREAS, on March 10, 2014 the Board of Directors implemented a Stage 1, Voluntary Supply Management of the SDCWA's Water Shortage and Drought Response Plan, the Acting CMWD Executive Manager declared a Level 1 Alert, Drought Watch; and WHEREAS, this was in response to the governor's call for increased voluntary water conservation statewide; and 11 WHEREAS, on July 15, 2014 the State Water Resources Control Board adopted a 12 statewide set of emergency regulations focused on reducing the use of potable water on ornamental and turf grass landscapes; and WHEREAS, on July 24, 2014 the SDCWA Board of Directors approved activating the next stage of the region's drought response plan and declared a Drought Alert condition calling for Ij mandatory water conservation measures to keep as much water as possible in storage for 18 2015 19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Carlsbad Municipal Water District Board of 20 Directors ofthe City of Carlsbad, California, as follows that 21 The above recitations are true and correct 22 22 2. There is a need to implement mandatory cutbacks by adoption of Resolution 24 No. 1495 25 3.
