2 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR THE CARLSBAD
MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT (CMWD) AUTHORIZING OUT OF
STATE TRAVEL FOR CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT
4 (CMWD) DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL TO ATTEND A GUIDED TOUR
AND INSPECTION OF HOOVER DAM

^ WHEREAS, City Council Policy Number Two governs requests for out of state travel by

employees when such travel benefits the city and CMWD; and
WHEREAS, one person from CMWD seeks authorization to attend a two-day guided tour
and inspection of Hoover Dam and the Colorado River Aqueduct System on the Colorado River,
11 hosted by the Metropolitan Water District and the San Diego County Water Authority. This two-
12 day program is designed to provide staff with a first-hand look at the magnitude of the water
13
delivery systems that feed Southern California.

WHEREAS, the Board agrees that it is in the public's best interest to authorize out of state
15
travel for CMWD personnel to attend the guided tour and inspection of Hoover Dam on the
16
Colorado River from Nov. 13 through Nov. 14, 2015; and
18 WHEREAS, the cost to attend the two-day tour, including travel and lodging, will be paid
19 for by the Metropolitan Water District. There is no fiscal impact to the city or CMWD.

24 2. In accordance with city policy, out of state travel is hereby authorized for a
25 Management Analyst in CMWD to attend a two-day guided tour and inspection of
26 Hoover Dam and the Colorado River Aqueduct System on the Colorado River, hosted
by the Metropolitan Water District and the San Diego County Water Authority.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the the Carlsbad Municipal Water District Board
of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows that:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.

Carlsbad Municipal Water District of the City of Carlsbad on the 20th day of October, 2015, by
the following vote to wit:
