As a 30- year resident of Carlsbad and a business owner in the village for the past six years, I have a strong connection to Carlsbad. In 2008 my husband and I started a company called Coolest Shoes in California. Initially we exhibited our products at street fairs, health expos, and the like, solely on the weekends as a part time venture. It grew very quickly, causing us to hire employees and open a warehouse with a showroom in Carlsbad. We also had a strong eCommerce presence. In 2011 we were awarded Entrepreneur of the Year by the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce due to our rapid business growth. In 2011 we moved Coolest Shoes in California from its warehouse on Avenida Encinas to its current location as a retail store on State Street and became part of the village merchant story. We again enjoyed rapid growth and a strong community connection. In 2013 we were named Entrepreneur of the Decade by the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce. In May of 2015 I began working as the part-time Program Manager for the Carlsbad Village Business Association to help increase brand awareness for the village as the premier north county destination to shop, dine and play, as well as to support the merchants that make the ·village thrive. To that end, CVA has been able to help effect change in the village culture including having more commited merchants, increased event attendance, less vacant retail space, and an all over more vibrant downtown. If you feel that I would be an asset to the Visit Carlsbad Board of Director's, I would be happy to be considered. Please let me know if you have any questions or need further information. -Be~ard:a?£1~ . :.;~.--A _ .... -----~~ ·--~~· Christine Davis info@carlsbad-village.com I 760.644.2121 ws,-r._l b d cars a Board Member Troy Wood Chairman Julie Zahner Vice Chairman Rob Stirling Treasurer/Secretary Julie Pastor Director Patsy Bock Director Linda Hopkins Director Vacant Director Company Park Hyatt Aviara Resort Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa Hilton Carlsbad Oceanfront Resort LEGOLAND California Omni Resort La Costa West Inn and Suites EXHIBIT C Address Phone Email 7100 Aviara Resort Drive, 92011 (760) 603-6872 trov. wood@ hvatt.co m 5480 Grand Pacific Drive, 92011 (760) 827-2422 jzahner@sheratoncarlsbad.com 6450 Carlsbad Blvd., 92008 (760) 476-0800 rob.stirling@caperev.com One LEGOLAND Dr., 92008 (760) 918-5390 peter.kock@legoland.com 2100 Costa Del Mar Road, 92011 (760) 438-9111 dchapman@lacosta.com 4970 Avenida Encinas, 92008 (760) 448-4502 lkhopkins@westinnandsuites.com
