RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Adopt Resolution 2018-6 approving the Board's nomination and election of a Chair to the
Carlsbad Tourism Business Improvement District (CTBID) Board.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
At its May 24, 2016 Board meeting, the CTBID Board elected Tim Stripe as Chair of the CTBID
Board. The Board approved a two year term for Board Chair. The two year term is now up and the Board needs to elect a Board member to the position for a two year term. A suggested
process for electing officers is attached at Exhibit 1.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
This action does not qualify as a project under the California Environment Quality Act ("CEQA") and will not have a physical adverse effect on the environment. (CEQA Regulation 15378(b).

RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CARLSBAD TOURISM BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT, ELECTING ITS BOARD CHAIR
EXHIBIT 2
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Carlsbad adopted Ordinance No. NS-778
enacting Chapter 3.37 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code on November 15, 2005 thereby creating
the Carlsbad Tourism Business Improvement District (CTBID);
WHEREAS, at its May 25, 2016 meeting, the CTBID Board elected its Chair; and
WHEREAS, the elected Chair's term has expired, so a new Chair needs to be elected;
and
WHEREAS, the Board conducted an election of officers at its August 1, 2018 meeting.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the Carlsbad
Golf Lodging Business Improvement District, as follows:
