Subject: Tour of historic properties
Recommended Action:
Commissioners will view properties with historic significance as designated by Council resolution
between the years 1986-1990. They will discuss the properties upon return to Council Chamber.
Executive Summary:
The Historic Preservation Commissioners have requested a tour of properties with historic significance
which were designated as historic by City Council resolution between the years 1986 and 1990. The
Commissioners will travel together in a city vehicle and drive by the following sites and in the following
order:
1. Santa Fe Depot 400 Carlsbad Village Dr
2. Frazier’s Well/Alt Karlsbad 2802 Carlsbad Blvd
3. St Michael’s Episcopal Church 2775 Carlsbad Blvd
4. Magee House 258 Beech St
5. Hart Realty/South Coast Land Co 2956 State St
6. Gaus House 3442 Roosevelt St
7. Gage House/Monterey condominiums 3080 Lincoln St
8. Carlsbad School District/Senior Center 801 Pine Ave
9. Ramsay House 1330 Chuparosa Way
10. Culver/Myers/Capp House 3140 Highland Ave
11. Highland Bungalows 3264 Highland Ave
12. Calavera School Site/Gardens 2997 Glasgow Dr
13. Calavera Lake & Dam trailhead at Tamarack
Commissioners will not discuss individual properties or any other commission business during the tour;
they will return to Council Chamber and discuss all sites at that time.
