RESOLUTION APPROVING REVISED INCOME LIMITS FOR SECTION 8 HOUSING PROGRAM

Housing and Redevelopment
Section 8 Income Limits in order to meet the housing needs of local populations.
The-Deparmtent of Housing and Urban Development has recommended revisions to the
Committee. The Committee recommended adoption of the Income Limits, and has forwarded
them to the Housing and Redevelopment Commission for action.
The income limits have been presented to the Housing and Redevelopment Advisory
Following adoption of the Income Limits by the Commission, they will be
submitted to HUD for approval.

If the Commission concurs with t4e new HUD regulation then they should adopt Resolution No. , approving the revised income limits for the City of Carlsbad's
Section 8 Housing Assistance Payments Program and direct staff to forward a copy of
the Resolution to HUD.

WHEREAS, the Housing and Redevelopment Commission recognizes the general
ncrease in the cost of housing on the private market and,
WHEREAS, the Commission recognizes the need to i.ncrease income limits
or admission and,
WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development has recommendcd
hat all Housing Commissions revise their income limits for admission.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Carlsbad Housing and Redevelopment
ommission that the Income Limits attached hereto as Exhibit I +re hereby
pproved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Housing and Redevelopment Commission of
he.Ci.ty of Carlsbad that the revised income limits be submitted to the
lepartment of Housing and Urban Development and that the Department of Housing
.nd Urban Development be urged to approve said revised documents.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at the regular meethg of Housing and
