RESOLUTION APPROVING REVISED INCOME LIMITS FOR CITY ATTY \!F6 DEPT. BLDG l SECTION 8 HOUSING PROGRAM. CITY MGR r RECOMMENDED ACTION: If the Commission concurs with the new Housing and Urban Development regulation ' they should adopt Resolution No. &- 2 approving the revised income limits for the City of Carlsbad's Section 8 ouslng Assistance Payments Program and direct staff to forward a copy of the Resolution to the Department of Housing and Urban Development. ITEM EXPLANATION: The Department of Housing and Urban Development has recommended revisions to the Section 8 Income Limits in order to meet the housing needs of local populations. On February 22, 1982, the income limits were presented to the Housing and Redevelopment Advisory Committee. The Committee recommended adoption of the Income Limits and has forwarded them to the Housing and Redevelopment Commission for action. Following adoption of the Income Limits by the Commission they will be submitted to the Department of Housing and Urban Development for approval. The Ccxtkssion should then approve the Income Limits by resolution, A copj! of the resolution is then mailed to HUD L-A, to be placed in our file. Executive Director RESOLUTION NO. l2 RESOLUTION OF THE CARLSBAD HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION APPROVING THE REVISED INCOME LIMITS FOR THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, SECTION 8 HOUSING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM.. WHEREAS, the Housing and Redevelopment Commission recognizes the general increase in the cost of housing on the private market and, WHEREAS, the Commission recognizes the need to increase income limits for admission and, WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development has recommended that all Housing Commissions revise their income limits for admission. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Carlsbad Housing and Redevelopment Commission that the Income Limits attached hereto as Exhibit A are hereby approved. BE iT FURTHER RESOLVED by ii-be Housing and Redevelopment Commission of the City of Carlsbad that the revised income limits be submitted t6 the Department of Housing and Urban Development and that the Department of Housing and Urban Development be urged to approve said revised documents.
