RED DOWNTOWN PARKING LOT CITY MGR.adL RECOMMENDED ACTION: Housing and Redevelopment Commission adopt Resolution No. 50 accepting a Grant Deed for property located at 2930 Roosevelt Street. - ITEM EXPLANATION At its meeting of June 18, 1985, the Housing and Redevelopment Commission reviewed the terms and conditions for the acquisition of Mr. David Thompson’s property on Roosevelt Street. Housing and Redevelopment Commission adopted Resolution No. 48 directing staff to take the steps necessary to complete the acquisition. This process has now been completed. A letter of imminent domain was included in the negotiated settlement. Housing and Redevelopment Commission is asked to accept the Grant Deed for the property located at 2930 Roosevelt Street. (Assessor’s Parcel #Is 203-304-2,3,4, & 5.) FISCAL IMPACT Purchase price and improvements total $600,000 ($537,500 land cost and $62,500 for parking lot construction). This amount will be loaned to Carlsbad Redevelopment Agency to be repaid at an interest rate of 10%. The Agency will have sufficient cash flow to provide the repayment during 1985-86. WHEREAS, David Thompson and Karen Thompson, husband and wife, have submitted a Grant Deed conveying real property to the City of Carlsbad Redevelopment Agency; and WHEREAS, the Housing and Redevelopment Commission of the City of Carlsbad has determined to be in the public interest to accept said Deed: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Housing and Redevelopment Commission of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows: 1. 2. 3. 4. //// //I/ //I/ //// //I/ I/// /I// That the above recitations are true and correct. That the sum of $537,500 is to be paid to David and Karen Thompson as valuable consideration for said real property. That the Grant Deed from David Thompson and Karen Thompson, dated July 18, 1985, conveying real property to the City of Carlsbad Redevelopment Agency for public purposes, which is on file with the City Clerk and is incorporated herein by reference, is accepted. That the City Clerk is authorized to cause the original Deed to be recorded in the Office of the County Recorder of San Diego County, State of California, with the appropriate Certificate of Acceptance attached.
