I RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Housing and Redevelopment Commission adopt Resolution No. 65 accepting bid and awarding contract to Palomar Grading and Paving for the Roosevelt Street Parking Lot.
ITEM EXPLANATION
On July 23, 1985, the Housing and Redevelopment Commission adopted Resolution No.48 completing process for the acquisition of property for the purpose of constructing a downtown parking lot. Funds were loaned to the Redevelopment Agency in the amount of $600,000 to cover land cost, design and parking lot construction.
On January 7, 1986, Council adopted Resolution No. 8324, approving plans and specifications and authorizing the City Clerk to advertise for bids for the construction of the parking lot.
Following the Notice to Bidders, five (5) responses were received, opened, witnessed and recorded on January 29, 1986. The bids were reviewed by the staff of the Engineering and Utilities and Maintenance Departments. Palomar Grading and Paving, 2150 N. Center City Parkway, Escondido, CA. 92026 was the low bidder in the amount of $45,237.00. The Engineer's estimate for the 20,000 square foot parking lot was $51,000. References and contractor's registration have been checked and are satisfactory.
I FISCAL IMPACT
Funds for the construction of the parking lot are available in Redevelopment Account No. 810-820-3120-3194.

A RESOLUTION OF THE HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A BID AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT FOR THE ROOSEVELT STREET PARKING LOT.
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Housing and Redevelopment Commission
of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
7 A. That the bid of Palomar Grading and Paving, 2150 N. Center City Parkway, Escondido, CA. 92026, is hereby accepted and 8 the Chairperson of the Housing and Redevelopment Commission is hereby authorized to execute a contract for the 9 Roosevelt Street Parking Lot.
