RED ORDERS 7 & 8 CITY MGL- RECOMMENDED ACTION: If the Commission concurs, your action is to adopt Resolution No. 124 approving change orders amending the agreement for design of the Elm Avenue/Carlsbad Boulevard Streetscape. Change Order No. 7 authorizes storm drain and traffic signal plan changes to Phase I & Phase II of the project. Change Order No. 8 authorizes the design of location map Kiosks and engineering design changes for the 3cean Street Park. ITEM EXPLANATION: 3n February 2, 1988, the Commission approved in concept the design for street improvements on Elm Avenue and Carlsbad Boulevard. Change orders are needed to accommodate design changes and increases in work scope. Change Order No. 7 is necessary to make engineering revisions to the storm drain system at Washington Street and Railroad crossing. Additional traffic signal improvements and traffic control plan changes we also included in this order. Total cost is $12,970. Change Order No. 8 is needed to accomplish engineering revisions to storm drain at Ocean Street Park. It also authorizes the design options for information Kiosks included in the project. Total cost $13,050. Total addition to the Streetscape contract for these changes is $26,020. Construction for Phases I and II is scheduled for April 1989. FISCAL IMPACT: I The Commission has previously appropriated $410,343 to the Streetscape design the addition of $26,020 brings the total design cost to $436,363. Funds will come from the proceeds of the Tax Allocation Bond Issue. EXHIBITS: 1. Resolution No. 124 approving Change Orders No. 7 and 8 for Streetscape design. _- --. . 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 124 A RESOLUTION OF THE HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING CHANGE ORDERS NO. 7 AND 8 AMENDING THE ELM AVENUE CARLSBAD BOULEVARD STREETSCAPE AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS WHEREAS, the Housing and Redevelopment Commission has authorized the design of the Elm Avenue/Carlsbad Boulevard Streetscape, and WHEREAS, the Housing and Redevelopment Commission has appropriated $410,343 for design including Change Orders No. 1 through 6, and WHEREAS, the Housing and Redevelopment Commission has determined the necessity to change the agreement for design of the project.
