RECOMMENDED ACTION:
If Housing and Redevelopment Commission concurs, your action is to adopt Resolution No. /z'? APPROVING an extension of a Redevelopment Permit for one year.
California Builders, the applicant for RP 85-19(A)CDP 88-
7, is requesting that they be given a one year extension of a Major Redevelopment Permit for a proposed hotel/commercial development on properties located on north Carlsbad Boulevard.
The Redevelopment Permit was originally approved by the Commission at your meeting on December 20, 1988. At the recommendation of the Design Review Board, the Commission approved a one year extension for the RP on December 19, 1989.
The applicant is requesting an additional one year extension for RP 85-19(A)/CDP 88-7. The Design Review Board adopted Resolution No. 163 at their meeting on
December 5, 1990 recommending approval of the extension.
The Carlsbad Municipal Code does not restrict the granting of successive extensions.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No detailed economic impact of this project has been determined.

A RESOLUTION OF THE HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION OF TEE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AN EXTENSION OF A PREVIOUSLY APPROVED REDEVELOPMENT PERMIT/COASTAL DEVELOPMENT PERMIT TO CONSTRUCT A HOTEL/COMMERCIAL COMPLEX AT THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF CARLSBAD BOULEVARD AND BEECH STREET
WEEREAS, a verified application has been filed with the
City of Carlsbad and referred to the Housing and
Redevelopment Commission, and
WEEREAS, said application was recommended for approval
and forwarded to the Housing and Redevelopment Commission;
and
WHEREAS, at their meeting of December 20, 1988, the
Housing and Redevelopment Commission did approve RP 85-
19(A)/CDP 88-7 to expire December 20, 1989; and
WHEREAS, said applicant requested and was granted a one
year extension to expire December 20, 1990; and
WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting an additional one
year extension; and
WEEREAS, the Design Review Board adopted Resolution No.
162 recommending approval of an additional one year
extension to RP 88-19(A)/CDP 88-7;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Housing
and Redevelopment Commission of the City of Carlsbad as
follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That based on the request as presented by the
applicant, the Housing and Redevelopment Commission APPROVES
a second one year extension to RP 88019(A)/CDP 88-7,
California Builders.
