T/24/90 AUTHORIZATION TO PARTICIPATE IN COUNTY OF <SAN DIEGO PERIODIC SALES % ClTY A7-i-Y DEPT.ADMIN. ClTY MGR. b w RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution No. 671 authorizing the Carlsbad Municipal Water District to participate in the County of San Diego's periodic sales to dispose of surplus property which is no longer required by the Carlsbad Municipal Water District. ITEM EXPLANATION The City and County of San Diego have awarded a contract for auctioneering services to Mark Gorin Associates of Huntington Beach, CA. In order to participate in the County Cooperative Auction, a public agency must file with the County of San Diego's Director of Purchasing and Contracting a certified copy of a resolution of its governing body reflecting authorization to participate in the periodic sales and to share in the pro rata costs for sales. FISCAL IMPACT There is no direct cost to the District. The County's fee schedule, based on a gross auction sale up to $250,000, is 9% of the price for vehicles/equipment and 19% for other surplus property. EXHIBITS Resolution No. 671. RESOLUTION NO. 671 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT AUTHORIZING THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE OF THE COUNTY OF PERIODIC SALES SAN DIEGO NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the Carlsbad Municipal Water District, as follows: 1. That the Carlsbad Municipal Water District does hereby authorize the County of San Diego to dispose of surplus property which is no longer required by the Carlsbad Municipal Water District and to collect appropriate surcharges to offset the pro rata costs for the sales.
