ADM CITY ATTY CITY MGR. Voluntary 10% Water Conservation Effort Discussion of MET'S Declaration of a TITLE: RECOMMENDED ACTION: RECOMMEND TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS THAT A STAGE I VOLUNTARY WATER CONSERVATION EFFORT BE DECLARED. ITEM EXPLANATION: The Metropolitan Water District Board of Directors met on Friday, March 27th, and declared a 10% voluntary water conservation effort. This latest declaration is the result of the Department of Water Resources increasing State Water Contractors deliveries from 35% to 45%, which includes MET. It is anticipated that the CWA will pass a similar resolution to reduce to a voluntary 10% conservation effort. As a result, staff is requesting the Water Commission to recommend to the Board of Directors the declaration of a 10% voluntary water conservation effort from the District water users. However, in the event that the CWA maintains a mandatory 10% water conservation requirement no additional action need be taken by the Board since we are presently is in a Stage I1 Water Alert. This item will be discussed by staff during the meeting.
