Make a recommendation to the Board of Directors regarding revision of the current water
rate and an amendment to Ordinance No. 35.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The Board of Directors referred this item to the Water Commission. The Board is
requesting that the Commission discuss the current water rate and consider a conservation
rate, along with a base rate.
The Board would also like a recommendation from the Commission regarding the current
water conservation ordinance that is in place, Ordinance No. 35, that will trigger
implementation of an inclining block rate as the District declares various conservation stages.
For example, a Stage 1, Voluntary 10% Reduction, would trigger a flat water rate with a
conservation rate. If the District were to declare Stages 2 through 5, the Ordinance would
contain language that would automatically trigger an inclining block rate to be in effect.
