I RECOMMENDED ACTION:
This is an informational item and therefore there is no staff recommendation.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The Board President has asked staff to conduct a workshop to discuss water issues and concerns relative to the Carlsbad Municipal Water District (CMWD). Staff will be making a presentation and updating or
discussing the following items:
. Carlsbad wells adjacent to the San Luis Rey River in Oceanside
. CMWD rate structure vs. other county agencies with local supplies
. Rate Increases during drought periods
. Overall purpose of the Metropolitan Water District, the San Diego County Water Authority and their effect on CMWD
. Water supplies vs. City planning and growth
. Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA), purpose and benefits to CMWD
