WATER PROJECT, CONSTRUCTION OF POTABLE
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 91 9 to accept the 1995 Downtown Water Project, construction of
potable water mains in Carlsbad Village Drive, Locust Avenue, Harrison Street, and Highland
Drive, authorize the Secretary to record the Notice of Completion and release bonds in
accordance with State Law and District Codes.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On October 1, 1996, Valverde Construction, Inc., was awarded a contract in the amount of
$381,401 for the 1995 Downtown Water Project, construction of potable water mains in
Carlsbad Village Drive, Locust Avenue, Harrison Street, and Highland Drive.
Valverde Construction, Inc., completed the work on April 25, 1997.
City forces have inspected the public improvements and found them to be satisfactory. Staff
recommends formal acceptance by the Board of Directors of the Carlsbad Municipal Water
District.
The public improvements consist of the 1995 Downtown Water Project.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Carlsbad Municipal Water District will be required to maintain the public improvements.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS
OF CONTRACT FOR 1995 - DOWNTOWN WATER PROJECT, CONSTRUCTION OF POTABLE WATER MAINS IN CARLSBAD VILLAGE
DRIVE, LOCUST AVENUE, HARRISON STREET, AND HIGHLAND DRIVE,
CMWD PROJECT NO. 88-107. CONTRACT NO. 3404.
WHEREAS, the public improvements consisting of the 1995 Downtown Water Project,
construction of potable water mains in Carlsbad Village Drive, Locust Avenue, Harrison Street,
and Highland Drive, have been successfully completed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the Carlsbad
Municipal Water District of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the construction of the above described public improvements is deemed
complete and hereby accepted.
3. The Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to record the Notice -of
Completion for said project and release bonds in accordance with State Law and District
Codes.
4. That the Carlsbad Municipal Water District of Carlsbad, California, is hereby
directed to commence maintaining the above described public improvements for said project.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a special meeting of the Board of Directors of
the Carlsbad Municipal Water District held on the 24th day of June , 1997 by the
following vote, to wit:
