There is no staff recommendation as this is an informational item only.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Metropolitan Water District (MWD) has been presented an opportunity to transform into an
organization prepared to take on new challenges of the future. With new leadership on the
Board of Directors and a new executive management team in place, it is now appropriate to
look at who Metropolitan is and how business is conducted.
As a result, management has developed a reorganization plan. This plan contains four
phases that address five issues: culture and labor relations/management, best business
practices, policies and procedures, budget and organization. The four phases include
development and introduction, rollout and implementation, benchmark budget and finally,
monitoring and evaluation.
Staff will be making a presentation on this MWD reorganization effort at tonight’s meeting.

This is an informational report and there is no fiscal impact.
