This is an informational item and therefore there is no staff recommendation.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Last year the San Diego County Water Authority Board of Directors approved a staff
recommendation to undertake an alternative revenue/rate structure analysis. As a result, the
Authority contracted with A&N Technical Services to conduct an in depth Analysis of the
Authority’s rate structure and how this structure affects its member agencies,
There have been numerous workshops to date, both with the Board of Directors and with the
member agency managers. This Revenue and Rate structure Study has been on hold for
several months while the Authority staff and Board addressed the major cost and participation
questions of the Emergency Storage Project. With these issues now settled, the Authority staff
and Board will soon be refocusing on how overall water transportation and supply costs may
be changed through the Authority’s Revenue and Rate Structure Study.
This staff presentation tonight will be an update of this study and review some of the
alternative rate structures.
