ENG n w 6 E e a .. z 0 F P p! 0 2 a rn TITLE: APPROVE THE DEDICATION OF AN UNDERGROUND ELECTRIC EASEMENT TO SAN DIEGO GAS & ELECTRIC COMPANY FOR SERVICE TO THE CALAVERA RECYCLED WATER PUMP STATION, PROJECT NO. 38898 CITY MGR- RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution No. 1235 approving the dedication of an underground electric easement to San Diego Gas and Electric Company for service to the Calavera Recycled Water Pump Station, Project No. 38898. ITEM EXPLANATION: Included in the Encina Basin Water Reclamation Program, Phase II Project (Phase II) are three recycled water pump stations: Twin D, Calavera, and Bressi. These pump stations are used to provide pressure for the recycled water customers throughout the City. The Calavera Recycled Water Pump Station (Calavera RWPS) is a critical component of the Phase II project providing recycled water to the Calavera Hills area 580-pressure zone. This pump station will be located on a District-owned parcel within the Calavera Hills Village “X Carlsbad Tract CT 01 -06 along College Boulevard. The Carlsbad Municipal Water District is negotiating an agreement with San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E) for the extension and construction of underground electric facilities to the Calavera RW PS. The extension of the electric facilities have been requested by the District to provide electric service to the Calavera RWPS. To receive electrical service to the site, an easement must be provided to SDG&E by the District. Staff has reviewed the easement document and recommends that the Board of Directors approve the dedication of this electric easement to San Diego Gas and Electric Company. FISCAL IMPACT: There are no anticipated fiscal impacts with granting this easement to SDG&E. EXHl B ITS: 1. WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of Carlsbad Municipal Water District has determined it necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to construct the Calavera Recycled Water Pump Station, for the Encina Basin Water Reclamation Program, Phase II Project, Project No. 38898; and WHEREAS, the Calavera Recycled Water Pump Station will be located on property owned by the Carlsbad Municipal Water District; and WHEREAS, San Diego Gas and Electric requires an easement from the Carlsbad Municipal Water District for periodic inspection and maintenance of its electric facilities; and WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Carlsbad Municipal Water District has determined it to be in the public interest to grant this easement to San Diego Gas and Electric Company; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of Carlsbad Municipal Water District (CMWD) of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows: 1. 2.
