RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Receive a report from Peter MacLaggan, Senior Vice President for Poseidon Resources,
regarding the status of the Carlsbad Desalination Project.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The Carlsbad Desalination Project has recently received final approval from both the California
Coastal Commission and State Lands Commission, clearing the way for final design and
construction of the project. At the October 7, 2008 Council Meeting, Peter MacLaggan, Senior
Vice President for Poseidon Resources, will provide the Council with a brief project update,
provide a possible construction schedule, and answer any questions that the Council may have
regarding the project.
