ENG APPROVAL OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE INDUSTRIAL PARK RECYCLED WATER SERVICE LINES PROJECT NO. 5201 DEPT. CITY ATTY. CITYMGR. (JJ—' RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution No.1351 approving plans and specifications and authorizing the District Secretary to advertise for bids for the Industrial Park Recycled Water Service Lines Project No. 5201. ITEM EXPLANATION: The Industrial Park Recycled Water Service Lines Project will construct copper service lines for two (2) residential and thirteen (13) industrial sites from the Districts recycled water pipelines at the locations shown in Exhibit 1. The purpose of the project is to allow for the conversion of onsite irrigation systems from potable water to recycled water. This project will install three (3) new 1-inch recycled water service lines and twelve (12) new 2-inch recycled water service lines. Converting these fifteen (15) sites to recycled water for irrigating the landscaping is anticipated to reduce the demand on the potable water system by ten (10) million gallons per year. ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: This project is categorically exempt from the environmental review process under Section 15302(c) of Title 14 of the California Code of Regulations. CARLSBAD ENGINEERING DEPT. 4/01/09 C:\CAPITAL\LOCA110N UAPS\5201.DWG 1 RESOLUTION NO. 1351 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER 3 DISTRICT, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE DISTRICT SECRETARY TO ADVERTISE 4 FOR BIDS FOR THE INDUSTRIAL PARK RECYCLED SERVICE LINES PROJECT NO. 5201. 5 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of Carlsbad Municipal Water District has determined 6 it necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to construct the Industrial Park Recycled Service Lines Project No. 5201; and8 9 WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for furnishing of all labor, materials, tools, 10 equipment, transportation, and other expenses necessary or incidental to said project have 11 been prepared and are on file in the Engineering Department of the City of Carlsbad and are 12 incorporated by reference herein; and 13 WHEREAS, the estimated project costs for the Industrial Park Recycled Water Service 14 Lines Project is $230,000; and 15 WHEREAS, the appropriation totaling $230,000 for the Industrial Park Recycled Water 16 Service Lines Project No. 5201 is sufficient to complete the project; and 17 WHEREAS, this project is categorically exempt from the environmental review process 18 under Section 15302(c) of Title 14 of the California Code of Regulations. 19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of Carlsbad Municipal 20 Water District as follows: 21 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 22 2. That the plans, specifications, and contract documents, on file in the 23 city Engineer's office as described above for the Industrial Park Recycled Water Service Lines 24 Project No. 5201, are hereby approved. 25 3.
