RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Consider the reorganization of the Carlsbad Municipal Water District Board by the election of a
President and Vice President.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
California Water Code Section 71273 requires that at the first meeting in the month of January
of each odd-numbered year, the board shall elect one of its members as president The board
shall also elect one of its members to serve as vice president, who shall exercise the powers of
the president if the president is unable to act or is absent.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
Pursuant to Public Resources Code section 21065. this action does not constitute a "project"
within the meaning of CEQA in that it has not potential to cause either a direct physical change
in the environment, or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment,
and therefore does not require environmental review.
