RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Board of Directors of the Carlsbad Municipal Water District (CMWD) Adopt Resolution No. _ 1466 _
accepting the contract for construction of the Rancho Carlsbad Pressure Reducing Station and Meter
Replacement; Project No. 50201, as complete, and directing the Secretary to record a Notice of
Completion and release bonds in accordance with State Law and City Ordinances.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On June 5, 2012, the CMWD awarded a contract to Piperin Corporation in the amount of $195,000 for
the construction of the Rancho Carlsbad Pressure Reducing Station and Meter Replacement,
Project No. 50201.
Piperin Corporation completed the work on March 17, 2013. Staff has inspected the work and found it to
be satisfactory. Staff recommends acceptance of the improvements by the Board.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
The approval of a Notice of Completion is a ministerial process and is exempt from the requirements of
the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Carlsbad Municipal Code Section
19.04.070A.l.a.

WHEREAS, the construction of the Rancho Carlsbad Pressure Reducing Station and

^ WHEREAS, the formal project Notice of Completion has been prepared; and
WHEREAS, all project costs have been established to date.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Carlsbad Municipal Water District Board of
the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows that:
