RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Board of Directors ofthe Carlsbad Municipal Water District (CMWD) Adopt Resolution No. 1488
accepting the contract for construction of the Santa Fe 11 Reservoir Drainage and Cribwall Improvements,
Project No. 50311, as complete, and directing the Secretary to record a Notice of Completion and release
bonds in accordance with State Law and City Ordinances.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On October 2, 2012 the CMWD awarded a contract to PAL General Engineering, Inc. in the amount of
$386,535 for the construction of the Santa Fe 11 Reservoir Drainage and Cribwall Improvements, Project
No. 50311.
PAL General Engineering, Inc. substantially completed the work on July 10, 2013 and a final change order
was executed on November 13, 2013. Staff has inspected the work and found it to be satisfactory. Staff
recommends acceptance ofthe improvements by the Board.

AS COMPLETE AND DIRECTING THE SECRETARY TO RECORD A
5 NOTICE OF COMPLETION AND RELEASE BONDS IN ACCORDANCE
WITH STATE LAW AND CITY ORDINANCES.

y WHEREAS, the construction of the Santa Fe 11 Reservoir Drainage and Cribwall
8 Improvements, Project No. 50311, has been completed to the Carlsbad Municipal Water
^ District's satisfaction by PAL General Engineering, Inc. on July 10, 2013; and
WHEREAS, the formal project Notice of Completion has been prepared; and

WHEREAS, all project costs have been established to date.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Carlsbad Municipal Water District Board of

14 the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows that:
15 1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the Santa Fe 11 Reservoir Drainage and Cribwall Improvements, specifically
