Staff have received initial plans for the upgrades that will be taking place over the next several months.
Included in this plan is interior and exterior paint throughout the building, new vinyl flooring in the
auditorium, computer room, and billiards room, library/lounge and new carpet in the offices. These
upgrades are expected to take place over the next several months as we prepare for the opening of the
Pine Avenue Park Community Center
Hepatitis A preventions
The County of San Diego has ended the hepatitis A public health emergency declared Sept. 1, 2017,
following four weeks with no new cases associated with the local outbreak.
County officials stressed that ending the emergency declaration does not mean the outbreak is over.
County public health officials will continue to work with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
and the California Department of Public Health on the efforts that were taken to control the outbreak.
Senior Prom moving forward
The second annual "Senior Prom" event is in full event planning mode. The event will be held Thursday,
February 15th at 1:30 in the Senior Center Auditorium. Emily Sim, from Sage Creek High School is
coordinating the event with the assistance of Recreation Supervisor Jack Risley and Program
Coordinator Valerie Fisher. Carlsbad by the Sea has graciously agreed to be the sponsor again this year.
Emily has been traveling to Senior Centers throughout North County to advertise and promote this
event.
