INITIATED BY: Senior Traffic Engineer REQUESTED ACTION: Elect a new Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of the Traffic Safety Commission to serve from October 2017 to October 2018. BACKGROUND:
Each year, it has been customary for the Traffic Safety Commission (TSC) to rotate the
role of the Chairperson by electing a Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson to serve a one-year term. Typically, after serving as Vice-Chairperson, the Vice-Chairperson is elected the Chairperson of the Traffic Safety Commission for the following year. The TSC policy has been for each Commissioner, if interested, to serve one year as Chairperson on a rotating basis. In the absence of the Chairperson, the Vice-Chairperson conducts the Traffic Safety Commission meeting.
RECOMMENDATION:
Elect a Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson, as determined by the Traffic Safety
Commission, to serve from October 2017 to October 2018.
NECESSARY CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
No City Council action required.
