Activity for Feb/March 2019
•CARS4 location –Carlsbad Blvd between Solamar Dr and
Breakwater Dr (Complaint of speeding vehicles and loud
exhaust)
–Traffic Division partnered with patrol and the Senior Volunteers to
conduct extra patrols and traffic enforcement stops.
–An electronic message board warning drivers of Loud Vehicle
Enforcement Zone was placed at Island Way.

PD Activity for March (con’t)
Response to Complaint –Area of Avenida Encinas and Ponto Dr (March 4th –Present)
•Traffic team responded to reports of illegal Construction Traffic for
the new resort at Coast Hwy and La Costa Ave in Encinitas.
•Traffic Officers along with City Inspector contacted the Construction site foreman. The City Inspector shut down all the trucks until they can provide a haul route.
•Officer conducted over 22 traffic enforcement stops while conducting
extra patrols in the area.

-March 12th Camino De Los Coches near LCCHS (solo
bicyclist fatal from a medical condition case 19-
01640)
-March 14th Carlsbad Blvd and Hemlock Ave (Vehicle
vs. electric skateboarder case 19-01700)

•Illegal Street Racing/Side Show Detail
-March 15th Countywide Law Enforcement Detail to
prevent the Orange/LA County CDK street racing
group from illegally shutting down streets and
conducting sideshows
-CDK attempted to meet at 5620 PDN but were met
and shutdown by several CPD, OPD, CHP, and La
Mesa Officers.
